Behind the Greens
We started our business because we wanted to provide our family with the freshest nutrient dense leafy greens and herbs, grown pesticide free! Good. Clean. Greens! We also wanted to know exactly what was going into the foods that we eat and that could only be done if we were growing leafy greens and herbs ourselves. This has always been a hobby of mine and has been for a few years now.
When we saw that there was a need for more readily available produce, that last far longer than produce sold in the store, I realized that my hobby could be used to fill this void. I started giving away produce that I was growing at home and which my family could not consume, to family and friends.
We’ve been a part of the Tallahassee Community for almost 20 years. We love this community and we also have a love and passion for sustainable farming. In January of this year we launched Indigo Greens. Our mission is to provide the community with produce that are grown with lots of love and heart, grown sustainably, are highly nutritious and grown without the use of pesticides or chemicals. We’ve had so many people express their appreciation for what we do.
